What does "bed space" mean?

I've scoured a number of property classifieds and some of them say "bed space" like this ad: http://www.qatarliving.com/properties/shared-accomodation/advert/bed-space-ladies-750-1
Does this mean that it's a shared accomodation?

MM: Possibly you are unaware of the ground realities and therefore you have posted this comment terming these people as a "happy go lucky type." Just go into one of these places and ask the people "the value of money" you speak of. It is not that they "value money" which forces them to live in such conditions. The real fact is that they don't have "that money" to afford a better place to live.

It's a space to fit a bed in.
A bed space mean a bit more than just a shared accommodation. There could be four or five to a room where there is just enough room for one to sleep. A nail or two on the wall is used to hang clothes on and your bags and other items go under the bed. Shoes are kept outside the rooms.
Yes. Rizks calls it "God's own country" , but to us outsiders it is a state in India.
