Educate A Child and Northwestern University March together at Student Walk

Qatari Footballers to participate and give their support to EAC

Educate a Child and Northwestern University have organised a symbolic 5 kilometer walk for students at Katara Cultural Village. The walk will have different milestones which represent the distance which children in difficult geographies around the world must walk must walk in order to reach their nearest available school. The one-hour walk is designed to raise awareness of the difficulties faced by children to have access to an education.

The walk will take place on Saturday 18th April 2015 at 4 pm at Katara Cultural Village. Students from the Youth Advocates group and from Northwestern alumni will be present at different milestone stations. All participants must register for a nominal fee of 30 QR, and all proceeds with go to Education Above All’s Educate A Child programme.

Four Qatari football players will also give their support to EAC by participating in the walk: Adel Lami and Ahmed Khalil amongst others.

The Plisson film entitled “On the Way to School" will be screened after the walk (this is to be confirmed).

An area where participants can sign special postcards with messages to children and a photo booth will be set up at the finish line.
