CMC reiterates putting an end to partitioned villas
The Central Municipal Council (CMC) yesterday asked municipality officials to increase their inspections on partitioned villas and in cases of violations to immediately notify utility service providers to cut off water and electricity.
The council hosted officials from the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning and Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) and blamed both departments for not doing enough to stem out the increasing practice of illegal partitioning of villas.
Jassim Al Malki the deputy chairman of the council said that most of the villa partitioning was being done by expatriates who rented the premises and instead of staying there, they partitioned them and rented them out to several other families.
