Three Cup Monte

A Simple trick:

Get three Identical cups(prefer thermocol cups...reason, see below), put them upside down on a table.  Ask your friend to put a ring or small object under any of the cups while your back is truned towards the cups.  Then ask him/her to interchange the cups under which the object is NOT placed.

You turn towards the cups, say some Mumbo Jumbo and point out the cup under which the ring/object is hidden....

Here's the trick behind it....before you start, on the base of one of the cups you can make a small mark with your fingernail which is like very small and visible to you( thats y, thermocol cups are preferred).  This cup is called the "Key Cup".  It is very important to note the position of this key cup before you turn your back on the cups.

For Instance...

You position the Key cup in center and after your friend makes the move, If this Key cup is moved to the left, then the ring is under the Right Cup.
If the Key cup is moved to the right, then ring is under the left cup.
If the key cup is not moved at all, then the ring is under the Key Cup.
