Cost of Living in Doha - 2015

Is Grade 6 salary (4.5k+4.2k (allowance)) enough for me to save some?

Life is too expensive in Qatar

But a Semi Government Hospital like Hamad Just pay Qr 3700 as their monthly salary, where you could not even afford a flat with that salary.

in my case ( bachelor)

shared room = 1000 Qr

food = provide by landlady about 600 Qr

accomodation = 600 Qr from pick&drop

medical = 50 Qr

utility = 100 Qr

phone & internet = 150 Qr

other (Cinema, miscellaneous shopping, hanging out in a coffe shop) = 600-1000 Qr

so about 3100-3500 Qr

In my case (family):

part of villa 2 rooms only = 3800 with electricity and wifi and its specious than 2 bed flat which i have been using before in 2007

food grocery = not less 3000 with 2 kids, i don't know how we can spend 1500 with family and kids impossible.

Car + fuel + maint. = 2500 it could not be 1500, 1500 i was spending in 2007

Medical = 200QR more than enough since we have HMC medical card.

Shopping + outings (extra) = 2000QR

Average schooling fees for 2 kids monthly ( its not indian , Bangali or Pakistani school) = 5000 with pick and drop and children expenses

Total 16500QR and this amount is just without any luxury, its a very hand to mouth expenses only. I am sacrificing in accommodation to accommodate my kids schooling better.

I would like to say that the cost of living in Qatar for even a labor is more in order to satisfy his basic needs.

Basic needs

Food - Price is more due to a higher rental for food shop

Transport - liter of petrol is QAR.1, AccomodationA land cruiser can drive for a mile of minimum 5 km/l

for a taxi we have to pay QAR.

Accommodation-As you all know is too high, in order to stay with 5 people we have to pay the minimum of 400 for each.

Mobile - charges are too high when you with the country like India, Srilanka, Pakistan etc....

for your more information I can say that In Sri Lanka 50 min/QAR.1 (Inclusive of all taxes).

car: I dont have one. and not planning to buy.

Misc: 50QRS . Cigarette/ snacks

Hahaha..... we can live with 5000 Monthly income.. if want... A sharing accommodation 2000. Food 1000 and vehicle..

minimum 27K to 30K should b urs take home other than skool fees & etc.. if U have 2 skool going kids..

Some pepole has low salary

For example my salary 6000 qr

The house rent is about 4000

Food cost about 250 qr each week

Water and electricity about 200 per month

Internet and phone 250 qr

Living here cost too much but I live better than other hows salary about 1500 qr and work for 12 hours

Some get 1800 qr and others only 3000 or less

They lives with so many pepole to save the rent of the flat

I lived in this countery for 30 yrs at the bast living cost were less than today

Cost of living is too High in State of Qatar! Compared to other GCC regions (UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and KSA) this place is just a loot. you can't buy anything for that matter. the profit is 10x times times the actual value.

About the Rent, its the middlemen and Brokers who hikes the price generating demand. they are the leeches who are there throughout. Once they are out thing will fall in place.

As per my thoughts, In my personal opinion I Quote

- "To starve one full day you need Qr.500/" !!!

Qatar is ridiculously expensive, exorbitant rents!! have a look at the classified adv and you will see villa's partitions for 6,000Qar. for 2 rooms only. that it is not even legal these days!

Furnishing is equally ridiculous, land lords are buying the cheapest ever and marking the adv as FF?!

lets talk about kitchens!! all made of cheap materials from the souk.

or maybe lets talk about the finishing of the buildings, in some places it feels like it is glued with spit.

Food :- 2000

Own Car :- 1000

Other :- 500 for one Thur night in one of the clubs!!

Total Cost of Living for Singles :- 4500 / Month

Accommodation :- 1500 (For executive Bachelor ) .....do you mean a bed space?!!?? a normal studion above the roof not less than 2500!!!

Food :- 1000 thats if you will cook daily for your self!!!

I suggest a min. additional of 15% increase to the cost of living you've survive last 2014.

Can you imagine a labour's maonthly salary in Qatar???

If so please do a breakdown!

Government housing will reduce this cost while children education will increase it again.

On wwhich planet do you live? 1500Qr for food?

Housing rent can b reduce if mediator ll be away.

They are charging extra n putting rent high just for commission.

School fess not included.

with family you need at least 14000, if you have kids with school, dont even think below 20000.
