Qatar temperatures to rise this week
The cold weather in the country is not likely to last long as the Meteorology Department has forecast a gradual rise in temperature from Tuesday.
Some parts of the country are expected to witness heavy fog in the early hours today and in the following days, according to the Department.
There would be a gradual rise in temperature starting from Tuesday, with the maximum temperature reaching over 29 degrees Celsius in some parts of the country during the weekend.
This increase has been attributed to an extension of low pressure associated with the Southwesterly to Southeasterly winds.
Temperature will shoot up further by Thursday reaching a maximum on Saturday, said the Department. The maximum temperature during this period is expected to be between 26 to 29 degrees Celsius in Doha while it would be higher by 4 to 7 degrees in western parts of the country.
The minimum temperature would settle between 15 to 18 degrees Celsius. Starting from Saturday night, the country might be affected by high pressure associated with strong Northwesterly winds, said the Department.
According to a weather forecast issued yesterday, temperature in Doha is expected to be between 13 degrees and 22 degrees Celsius today.
Other areas like Al Khor and Abu Samra would be colder, where the mercury could plummet to eight degrees Celsius by evening.
