Car Washing forbidden ?

Hello,
I've got email from administration that in my compound I can not wash my car, that is new government law they said and there is fine 20 000 QR for non-compliance. I called to them and they said that I can use only bucket but no hose. Do you know something about it?
I see that people doesn't care and still use a hose.

This is an existing law and you can be fined if you are caught using the hose to wash cars..
They might saw a lot of water flowing into the road.
For this reason it seems someone from your friendly neighborhood complained. This is an old rules of Qatar.
I usually do it and use a small bucket to clean my Car if its not too dirty rather than go to Car washer Company and wait for long cue and waste almost 4 hrs of your day.
There is a law forbidding the use of hoses for washing cars. Looks like this is one law that may be enforced now.
there is lots of advertising from Kahramaa about saving water - this could be related to that...
Should some one insist you to use water sparingly ? When people violate / do not obey the rules then only the fine is imposed. water is precious, lets save for others. If you can afford to own a car, you must afford to go for car wash co.,
