Hello guys, so happy of discovering the forum in order to ask for some help.

I got an offer to work as an Security Duty Manager at Doha Airport, for 10.000 QAR with their accomodation(single in an apartment) +1000qar(food)+300(transportation).I also have a wife and I am bringing her with me, so they told me that they ar going to give me an extre 6000 QAR as a social assistance. Grand total 17.300...Is this acceptable? How is the housing? How is the company?

Thanks in advance

20-25 K is a decent offer. Try your luck. Qatar Airways is not a good pay master...however...Qatar Petroleum, Qatar Gas & other Qatar Government companies pays really well which you cant even imagine.

They told me that I am going to get an apartment(1 bedroom) just for myself. And from my calculation 10k QAR was an acceptable offer. Now that I see your answers I am reconsidering this whole Qatar experience.

I think I will try to negociate the salary and if I can bring it up to 20-25k I will take the job.

All the jobs in Qatar Airways are paid this low?

buddy, considering ur nationality...this offer is at lower end. looking at your expenses which you make...it will be tight for you whenever you are nearing month-ends. accommodation which they are going to provide will be big but it will be shared accommodation in an apartment of 2 or 3 bedroom. 1 bedroom with attached bathroom (dedicated) and shared living room, kitchen will be given to you from company. If you wanna stay in a decent locality in Qatar...rental cost is very high here. once again, looking at your nationality...u minimum need 7000 qar as every month rent...u can still live with the money which you are getting in a lavish way...however, you cannot save a decent amount for ur future. bargain and ask for more...wish you luck.

I am an European, living very good in my country.I have a house and 2 cars(me and my wife) and can afford going to restaurants, movies, designer clothes, etc. The salary i was offered is a bit higher that what I am making in my country.

So if I get an apartment is just for me, I can not bring my wife to stay with me or there isn't enough room for both of us.

Today I talked with the HR lady again and she told that I misunderstood the 6000 for bringing my family. This is the amount for me to find accommodation.

In the end, how much should I ask in order to live a normal life with my wife?

In my country I have the position of Security Manager and over 4 years of experience on my position.

Its a decent offer if you are an Asian National (India, Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangla, Philippines). If you are western than this package is at very lower end.

GodFather.

Depends what kind of Life style you have. The package is towards the lower end for a couple I would say. Also depends on your nationality!

10,000 + 1000 food + 300 (transpo) and extra 6,000 if you bring your family; you'll have a very tight budget in order to save some amount. You accommodation is single so you have to get of your own for your family and rent here is very high!
