Eid Rush: Arrive at HIA three hours before departure

It's that time of the year again when the airport gets packed and busier as people come in to Qatar, but mostly leave the country for Eid break. This trend has been increasingly noticeable among Qatari nationals too.
Hamad International Airport (HIA) is preparing for an increase in departing and arriving passengers during the Eid Al Adha holidays, according to a report on The Peninsula.
The airport has advised passengers to arrive at the airport three hours before their flight departs, said a press statement yesterday.
During this special holiday, many people will be visiting friends and loved ones all over the world, so HIA is working to ensure that all the passengers have an enjoyable and pleasant travel experience.”
HIA has reminded passengers that check-in will close an hour prior to departure so they should take advantage of the online check-in service offered by airlines such as Qatar Airways.
Those dropping off and collecting passengers have been informed that HIA offers free parking for the first 30 minutes in the short-term car park, and charges QR5 per hour thereafter.
Passengers who drive their own cars to the airport will find free parking in the long-term car park, where they will be offered a free bus ride to the bus terminal at HIA.
All unattended vehicles parked on the curbside throughout the HIA facility will be towed away by the authorities.
