Video: Doha City back in 1958

Here's a great video that shows how Doha looked like back in the year 1958. The video features some of the areas we frequent today, like Souq Waqif.

It's great to see what Qatar was like 50 years ago, before they discovered oil and natural gas. As a long-time Qatar resident, I can say Qatar has developed it's infrastructure drastically.

I happened to come across this video on Al Rayyan TV's YouTube channel. Watch it and let me know what you think.

The video is narrated in Arabic, but that should not stop you from enjoying images of 1950s Doha.

Very impressive, but it seems that people of the Indian subcontinent have been playing the important role in the development of this country not just qatar but I won't be wrong if I say the whole gulf ever since they can remember...
