Qatar farms to receive water utilities

Qatar’s General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has announced plans to expand its distribution of potable water in the country.
According to a report by Gulf Times, local farms will be a part of this expansion scheme.
Kahramaa president Essa bin Hilal al-Kuwari said the state-run utilities company would connect water pipes to local farms giving farmers access to high-quality drinking water via the Kahramaa distribution network.
Al-Kuwari noted that Kahramaa had already started the project which was implemented under the instructions of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
“Applications will be accepted in the first quarter of 2015 as per mutual regulations between Kahramaa and the Ministry of Environment,” al-Kuwari added.
