my contract versus immigration

I came here in qatar last 2011. After working for 2yrs in my first company, they gave me NOC. Needless to say, i was able to find another work also here in qatar. Now, i am considered to be "local hire".

It's been 8months already since i started and the stress in my new work greatly affects my health so i am thinking to leave this company. In my contract, it clearly states that i just need to finish my probationary period of 6 months, then i can terminate my contract. They will give me NOC as long as i will not transfer to a competitor.

Now the confusion starts when my friends tell me that as per immigration, being a local hire, i can only transfer sponsor after 1 year - this is not indicated to my contract.

So what should i do?  As of ministry of labor, what's in the contract should be followed. Is there anyone here who is familiar with the change of sponsor rule?

Thanks for your reply. This is the first time I learned of this "Araa". I still have questions though. May I get your number? If it's ok with you.

@yangster your friend has said correctly. You need to work in a company atleast 1 year before changing the visa (or) your current sponsore can give you Arraa- which means after completing 6 months in the company you can take arraa (document signed by your current sponsor and join & work in another company. After total 1 year then you can change your visa to that new company.

This thing is a default and will not be mentioned in any company contract. Hope this helps you.
