Qatari businessmen welcome law changes

An elite representative body of the private sector has welcomed the changes proposed in the sponsorship and exit permit rules for foreign workers.

Qatari Businessmen’s Association (QBA) has said private businesses would easily adapt themselves to the new rules.

“The new rules are expected soon and would be welcome,” said QBA chief, Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani.

He told Al Arab daily in remarks published yesterday that the business community is confident that whatever changes the government is planning to introduce to the sponsorship law would be welcome because it wouldn’t hurt their interest.

“Businessmen are happy and satisfied. Of course, the government wouldn’t harm our interest so whatever it does would be in our interest,” Sheikh Faisal said.

How come businessmen welcome law changes when normal people don't even know of any law changes? Laws must be equal to all not only business people. Introducing the law first to the business people is the first failure to what ever is coming. There would be a time when Qatar and these business people will understand that without the people they find irrelevant in their law making, their businesses, money and dreams will be nothing without the normal people.

But what has actually changed? The controlled are still subject to the terms and conditions of the contract the employer presents when the controlled step off the airplane.
