Helping Jobs in Qatar - Must read & comment
Hi All,
I am working in Qatar for a very long time now. 15 years, half of my life is spent here.
In the last 2 years of my left i have met almost more than a 1000 new people who want to persue Education for their future to get better jobs in the middleeast. I would like to talk about these 1000 people. Most of them come from either a non finance backgroup in terms of qualifications or they are well qualified individuals who want to further enhance their CVs for better jobs. I will categorise my talk for 2 categories of people. Young ones who graduated from scholls and elderly who have work experience and need further qualifications.
What is advisable for young people?
To get a good paying job you need 3 things:
1. Atleast one branded qualification behind you before you go to the interview table. Do not under estimate the importance of qualification if you want to do job for your whole life. Remember, the market is extremely competitive.
2. Good experience in the relevant fiend of qualification, dont think someone will hire you if you have studied finance and your experience is in marketing(I am talking about GOOD JOBs. Multi National Companies).
3. Good company to work in for your dream job.
My focus is only on large size companies, you may get a job with your part qualification as well. For sure you can! but you can always start better with a full qualification behid you. In this way you will always start better. In this way your experience will be most relevant to your qualification.
Remember: Now a days there are 1000s of job rolls in a single area of work. Things are expanding like never before. e.g. social media expert, leads specialist etc etc....these job rolls never existed before. So to get paid well enough, you need to be a specialist end the day. IF you are not a specialist you will always stay an average low paid person.
What is advisable for already working and part qualified or low qualified people?
Most of the low qualified or part qualified people get jobs because they just start somewhere at work. Later they find thier way to become specialist. In many cases people also start early because they have to, they have no other choice. They have to win the bread for their families.
But do not get caught up. You have to keep moving at every stage of your life. Now that you have a job you have to get qualified or else there will be no promotion for you. Your boss expects you to be a multi tasker. Both in your personal and professional life. There fore just beating down the bush will not help. You have got to achieve more by studying more, getting qualfied and get promoted.
If you think you can get promoted wih out qualification, well then let me tell you that there are some big companies that have proceedures. No matter how talented or wise you are, if you dont have a qualification behind you. They WILL NOT PROMOTE you ahead.
In many cases i have seen people taking off from their GOOD PAYING jobs, pause for some time in their life for lets say 2 years or so and travel to some great universities to complete their studies. They may loose for 2 years their savings. But they know that the return on investment will pay off very fast after they qualify.
