Al Sudan intersection to be closed temporarily

Part of Nasser Bin Salmeen Al Suwaidi Intersection (Al Sudan) will be closed temporarily this evening.
The aim of the closure is to study its impact on traffic on Al Amir (22 February) Street, which has been facing congestions during peak hours, the Public Works Authority — Ashghal — said yesterday.
The lanes going from south to north and from north to south will be closed.
This is expected to ease traffic on other lanes at the junction.
The closure will allow more cars in the direction from Al Amir Street to Al Sudan Intersection, which is experiencing heavy traffic causing congestions on the main route of Al Amir Street, Ashghal said.
The closure will be for a trial period. It is being done following the approval of the Traffic Department and the Transportation and Infrastructure Planning Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, as well as the committee to combat traffic congestion.
