UPDA now issues a mandatory license for all engineers , if you don't have it , in the near future you will have to pay a fine and some jail time

new law since Jan - 2014

they started accepting requests for certification since January and are done with extra 2000 engineers ,so they need another year or two to implement the new law

so take your time.

I am not planning to quit now guys, i was suppose to get an Engineer's Visa, but my employer sponsored a Professional Visa(I had no option, i had to accept it), i just wanted to know if this will effect my Career in long run? Someone told me that you wont be accepted as a Engineer in other companies(may be in 2 or 3 years) in Qatar as i worked here in a Professional Visa.

@minnus123 -- What is MMUP/UPDA Registration? Is it some kind of Certification i need to get to prove i am an Engineer ???
