Flight makes unscheduled landing, passenger dies

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An Etihaad Airlines flight from Jakarata to Abudhabi made an unscheduled landing here on Monday night as a Filipino passenger on board complained of uneasiness. The passenger died on way to a hospital here.
Mondenedo Elmer (30), a Pilippines national bound for Doha, complained of severe chest pain and vomited blood while on board, airport sources said.
The flight, EY 471 with 169 persons including the flight crew, landed at Thiruvananthapuram, the nearest airport, and the sick passenger was rushed to a private hospital.
He, however, died before reaching the hospital, sources said.
The body of the deceased is kept in the Medical College Hospital here and the police had informed the Philippines Embassy of the matter, sources said.
The flight resumed its journey on Tuesday morning, sources added.
