Our group is really taking off and we have heaps of events planned for the next few weeks. If you visit the Events section of QL you will find links to our website. Once you're on the Doha Expat Mums & Kids website, just click on Activities and then Upcoming - this will take you to a full listing of everything we have scheduled.

All-Ages Playgroup at Dahl Al Hamam Family Park
EVERY Saturday 10am-noon

The weather has been spectacular, so please join us for an All-Ages playgroup at Dahl Al Hamam Family Park, which is located near Landmark Mall. We'll be meeting every Saturday from 10am-12pm.

The covered playground is HUGE, so there is something for everyone to do. Please bring sunscreen, snacks and a beverage for your child. You might also want to bring a jacket just in case.

RSVPs are not required, but will be helpful so we can know who to expect. Dads are more than welcome to attend as well. We regularly have at least 20 families at this event.

Please forward the details to anyone who might be interested - especially working mums and expectant mums.

New Arrivals Coffee
Occurs every Tuesday 10am-noon (February 17, 24 and March 3, 10, 17, 24)
The café upstairs in The One at Landmark Mall

New to Doha or to Doha Expat Mums and Kids. . .or just want to welcome someone who is?

Join us for a casual coffee at the cafe *upstairs* in The One (furniture & household goods store) in the Landmark Mall every Tuesday from 10am-noon for a caffeine jolt, great conversation, and a few laughs!

RSVPs are always good to have, but are not required.

2006 & 2007 Kids Playgroup
Occurs every Wednesday 9:30am-11:30am (February 18, 25 and March 4, 11, 18, 25)
Salwa Gardens Compound, Al Waab

You just need to bring yourself and your little bubba, snacks and drinks will be provided.
The playgroup will be held in Al Waab, right opposite Hyatt Plaza.

Expectant & New Mums Coffee – City Center
Occurs alternating Thursdays 10am-noon (February 12, 26 and March 12 & 26)
Starbucks in City Center, same level as Carrefour

Calling all Expectant & New Mums! Let's meet at the City Center Starbucks for a cup of coffee (or a decaf!) and talk all things baby. RSVPs are great to have, but not required. If you have any friends who are pregnant or are new mums, please invite them as well. Please note: The Expectant & New Mums coffee will alternate venues - one week at City Center Starbucks and the next week at the Villagio's Ristretto Café.

All-Ages Playgroup

You are invited to an all kids playgroup at the Beverly Hills Tower. Plus if you are a mother of twins please make sure to attend and meet my twins! RSVP required.

Gympanzee Event
Mon Feb 16, 2009, 9:30 am – noon
Gympanzee – in the Villagio Mall next to Ristretto Café

"Squiggles to Grins" is a 60 minute program where budding young artists interact with kids their own age in a fun and nurturing environment. In this non-threatening setting they begin to grow emotionally while developing their language and community skills. Parents, too have an opportunity to socialize with the other parents. It's hard to tell who is having more fun!
While the mommies and children have a snack we will have a "Puppet Show" in form of a story. (20 minutes)
And then finally free play, which usually kids enjoy the most. the remaining (40 minutes).

Infants-Only Playgroup
Occurs every Monday starting February 16th, 9:30am-11:30am
The Mall area, Ahmed Bin Shaheed Street

New mums bring your baby and a small blanket for the floor and enjoy all the cooing at our Infants-Only playgroup at a member’s house. Coffee,tea,juice and light snacks will be provided. RSVP is required and can be made through the Doha Expat Mums & Kids website – on the Contact page.

All-Ages Playgroup
Sun Feb 22, 2009, 9 am – noon
West Bay, near the Golf Course

Join other babies, tots and preschoolers for an All Ages Playgroup at a member’s home in West Bay. We'll be both inside and outside, weather permitting, so be sure to bring jackets and sunscreen just in case.

Our shipment has arrived, so we definitely have enough toys for every age group (and then some!). Mums of "mouthy" babes will want to watch their kids since there will be some toys out that are appropriate for the three-year old crowd, but I'll do my best to put away the most egregious ones (scissors, super-small parts, etc.).

I'll have coffee, tea and snacks for mums. . .and snacks for the kids. Please BYO sippy cup & drinks for the kids; I'll have water available for their cups, though :o)

Day at the Zoo!

Please join us for some fun and exploration at the Zoo – let’s take advantage of this beautiful weather! Should be fun to go outdoors and see the animals. (Don't forget to bring sweaters though, just in case it gets chilly).

Admission:
Adults - 5 riyals each
Child - 2 riyals each

8:45am-9:00am - Waiting time at the benches, cafeteria area (it's a few steps to your left from the entrance gate)

9:00am-10:30am- Animals sightseeing (been there a few times so i can be your tour guide.. :))

10:30am- up to you! - playtime at the Zoo playground (its a nice playground by the way! ;) )

Note: Tuesdays are ladies and children only (boys must be under nine years old)
