DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (Reuters) -- A three-year-old boy died from the heat after locking himself in a parked car while playing in the United Arab Emirates.
The boy sneaked into his father's car in the city of al-Ain at noon when the temperature averages around 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit).
"The tragic incident was the result of exposure to extreme heat after staying for a long time inside the car," the official WAM news agency quoted a civil defense officer as saying on Thursday.
The boy's family found his body after combing the neighborhood for several hours.
