Retailers unhappy with lack of distribution of Shafaf gas cylinders
Many retailers of the Shafaf cooking gas cylinders complain that the distributors are not receptive to their requests for quick delivery of fresh stocks while many customers have called for a daily supply system to overcome a severe shortage in the market.
“Despite repeated calls to the distribution centre, there is no proper response,” a retailer said yesterday.
“Whenever we call for delivery of fresh stock, we get the routine answer that it will be taken care of soon. We have been calling them since last Wednesday and so far have not got any delivery,” he said.
Another retailer recalled that when they started selling the cylinders supplied by Qatar Fuel (Woqod), they were given the supply centre’s telephone number that the company said works 24/7 and that any number of cylinders would be delivered in the shortest possible period.
“But I have been calling them regularly for fresh stocks and waiting for the last three days,” he complained.
Meanwhile, customers complain there is a severe shortage of cylinders in the market. Many of them go to several shops in search of the cylinder.
A customer demanded that the distributors should supply Shafaf cylinders to the shops on a daily basis instead of waiting for the shopkeepers to call them for fresh stocks. This can solve the issue in a big way.
Another customer said that Woqod must think of supplying the cylinders directly to the customers. “This can be done in the same way that the metal cylinders are supplied. If there is such a system to distribute the cylinders at the doorsteps, the present situation can be overcome.”
It has been pointed out that irregular supply and the recent decision to stop the sale of cylinders in Woqod petrol stations are the major reasons for the sudden shortage.
Woqod introduced the lightweight, transparent Shafaf cylinders in an effort to make cooking gas use safer and more convenient. The Shafaf cylinders for domestic use are available in two variants of 6kg and 12kg.

Regulators are not been supplied too... how do we use the gas without regulator.
please let me know were can we find the regulator for home use. wooqod have only commercial use regulators. advise needed.
There's no shortage. The Gulf Times says everything is fine, so people need to stop saying that they can't cook their food.
Don't worry no shortage. The sign of shortage is when people start burning the retailer shops.

Woqod should take a lead on this, they are just sitting around, till someone acknowledges that there is a problem.
