Food Zones and Activities of the fifth edition of the Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) have been announced.

The annual festival will take place at the Museum of Islamic Art Park from the 20th to the 23rd of March 2014.

Entry to the event is free. Opening times:

  • Thursday, 20th March, at 5:00 pm - 11:00 pm.
  • Friday through Sunday, 2:00 pm - 11:00 pm.

The fifth edition of the festival features 11 general zones, which include 4 food zones, a live cooking zone, 55 food stalls and 5 kiosks of restaurants and exhibitors.

The festival will have one main entrance for all guests and visitors, featuring four tents: Information and First Aid Tent, Welcome Arch, sponsor lounges and a hospitality area.

The International Zone is the premium food zone of the festival and features 5-star hotels.

The zone takes visitors on a journey around the world in a fun filled and vibrant atmosphere.

The Snack Zone is one of two large food zones at QIFF and has routinely been one of the most popular zones in previous editions due to its location and the variety of offerings.

The Stage Zone, situated in the largest of the open field sections, is equipped with audio, lighting and large LED screen(s) to host exciting stage entertainment and activities for the benefit of guests.

Signature zones and activities include the Dinner in the Sky zone, one of the most popular signature activities sponsored by Renaissance Hotel as well as the BBQ Donut, which is sponsored by the Diplomatic Club, as well as the Dinner in Dhow by Souq Waqif Hotels.

Another signature zone is the 'Qatar/Brazil Year of Culture' as an activation for this year's cultural exchange program.

The Zone will feature Brazilian food outlets in addition to a number of barbecue stations since the barbecue is an essential part of Brazilian cuisine.

The zone will be decorated in a colorful theme inspired by the vibrant culture of Brazil.

This will be complemented by Qatari elements featured by the Ministry of Culture such as traditional tents, Arabic coffee and dates. Traditional Qatari food will round up the special culinary experience.

In addition to the Family and Water zones, QIFF 2014 introduces the Health & Active zone that combines healthy food outlets, and information on healthy nutrition and a well-balanced diet.

It also features fun activities and live entertainment focused on a healthy lifestyle.

Also part of the zone are the awareness area, the fitness & fun course that has a variety of playful sport activities, live classes conducted from the center stage, and healthy food outlets.

The Live Cooking zone is another zone also featured this year. The signature activity will be the Qatar Airways Cooking theatre, supported by other featured activities such as a live cooking and BBQ contests.
