Rental Issue: Need advice

Hi QL's,

Please I need your advice. Two months ago I rented a flat from a person.
Today, I asked him for the contract (Rental agreement). He said that it isn't necessary. But I need it especially to get the family visa for my wife.

So I want to know, which kind of problemes could I have if I'm not getting the contract (Internet, RP for my family...)??

When asking, I found that many peoples rent wihtout any agreement.!!!

I'm little bit confused.
