Umrah by Road
Hi,
i am planning to go for Umrah by road on 13 April 14. Due to leave restrictions, i am leaving on Sunday morning, so i want to go to Madinah first and then reach Makkah for Umrah and attend Jumma prayers at Makkah Haram and conclude my trip on Fri18/4 evening. so the route will be DOH-MED-MAK-DOH
Need advise regarding roads, distance and facilities etc. i intend to go by car with my family. it will be helpful, if any one can share the experience. pls call me on 55964031. if anyone wants take travel onthe same day, it will be great....our vehicles can go together. both will have support.
i have long driving experience throughout Gulf except Saudi. so driving long distance is not an issue.
regards
Dear Nizamuddin, I have travelled last year using the same route left Doha on mid day at 11:30 am and reached Riyad at 6 pm stayed there for a night and then left for Madina at 9 am next morning arrived at 5 pm in Madinah stayed for two nights and then traveled to Makkah. The road from Riyadh to madinah is very good and no curve or mountains' don't know but i think to cover it in a day will be exhausting with family.
@ Noshen, Kabab me haddi kahan se aayaa ??????/
Mabrook Nizamuddin...I have recently heard from friends that Saudi authorities are not allowing to do UMARH by car in short they are returning the people from border itself. One of my frind had experienced this in the last month. SO please check with the travel agent well before so as to avoid any hurdles on the border. Also do remember us in your Dua's.
Nizamunddin, if you use the old road from Qassim to Madinah be always alert while driving as this road is one of the few highways in Saudi Arabia that has no fences on either side of the road leading to camels straying in and standing in the middle of the road. This becomes very dangerous during the night when visibility is restricted.
