Exit permit from CID

Hi,

I resigned from my company and served a notice period more than stated in my offer letter so that i could do a proper handover to my replacement. But now my company refuses to give me my last month's salary and exit visa. I was advised to goto CID for this. I have my passport with me and am not provided food, transport or accomodation by my company. What is the success rate of getting an exit visa from CID and how long does it take? Will it make any difference if I let go my salary? Are there any complications going through CID or any future travel restrictions here or anywhere? How will this affect my company?

Thank you

Raj

Hi Rafeeq,

I sent the resignation by email. I have an offer letter from the company which states the notice period. I have never faced any complaints during my tenure. I have worked for less than a year. No I was hired from outside Qatar. I don't get any stay or transport benefits. Salary is bank transfer. There is no reason for denying yet, but I'm sure the company can come up with something if they want to. I don't know why they would want to though. Wouldn't it be easier and a lot less expensive for them to just cancel my visa and give me an exit permit? Or do they have any benefit in withholding exit permit?

And how long will cid take in this instance? It's a small company with no such name and fame. I can give you more details if you could provide me your contact.

Hi Memon

I was told labour dept doesn't deal with exit permits and for that I need to goto CID only. Have you had any luck with labour dept?

Also do I need to have a lawyer to deal with this matter? Can you suggest some ?

Thanks a lot guys

Or you may take help from labour department, if you are correct at all phase and you have copy of acceptance of ur resignation letter from your company.

How did you send the resignation letter? By email or by handing over to the department? Do you have the contract by the company with the details as you mentioned above? Have you ever faced any complaints during your tenure with the company? What is the reason for denying the salary and benefits? Since how long you are working for this company? Are you a local hired candidate? How was your stay and transport? Salary bank transfer or cash? Before going to CID make sure, the above questions finds a valid reason and proof. Best of luck.

More than that, however true you are, the name and fame of the firm will make you deny all the benefits. Be cautious. Best of luck..!
