Long Live Old QL

BlueBull
By BlueBull

I logged in after quite a while and I'm speechless. I miss the old look and feel of QL when I joined it first in 2007. I'm sad to see the new version.

I hope the owners make this one as user friendly and recognizable as the old QL. share your feedback if you feel the same.

TB - The feeling is almost the same here. QLers I know personally have stopped logging in due to similar reasons. Older QL had such a good traffic and a familiar friendly look and feel that at one point I used to think I 'm addicted. Thankfully that feeling has vanished.

I disliked it so much I did leave. I pop back every now and then to see who is around and attempt to re-engage, but the magic has gone. I owe so much to the old QL and I can't help thinking how something so great has crashed and burned. There was a time when everyone I knew logged on to QL at some point. Now it has faded to grey. Personal I have turned to twitter and that's where I hang out now. You may remember me as TB but on twitter I am iCandy_pw if anyone wants to look me up.

I hope I had the resources to start my own website. I have the idea but no resources. I can be a partner if someone's interested. I can invest money but no time.

If people don't like the site all they have to do is start a new site that has all the features that they desire. Complaining about it isn't going to fix it, unless you are actually going to be the one to fix it.

It's the same reason that there is no income tax in various countries. If you pay income tax, you have a right to question how the tax revenue is spent. If you don't pay, you have no right complain about the government.

The same applies for free websites. If you aren't contributing any money to the running of the site, do you really have a right to demand change?

"If you don't like it, leave" this sentence sounds right, but not here in QL

When you start a website and the majority don't like it, that means there is something wrong and I have to follow their desires becasue they are the users, the only source to run this kind of business

If I didn't love this site as much as I do, I wouldn't have bothered to post this thread here. If the owners are averse to constructive feedback;they have the right to turn a blind eye.

Thanks to this site getting useless ...I am free from the obsession I had started to develop with it and which has started bothering me to some extent...:) Now I am good and in the process hooked onto couple of other sites which have better, meaningful discussions on issues which are close to my heart. So yeah a thanks to the QL guys for making it dumb which helped me make my life more interesting.

Things change, it happens everywhere. Facebook Gmail Yahoo....people complain, but people need to adapt! Lets all move on and stop complaining about it.

I agree with Thelonius. The same responses we throw at people who say anything about this country, also would therefore apply to this site:

If you don't like it, just leave

Their site, their rules

People from outside shouldn't interfere in others business

Etc
