An exciting blend of Mediterranean and Arabic tastes can be experienced at the Moroccan Festival at Sharq Village Spa.

The Al Liwan restaurant hosts the event from January 26 to February 1, 2014.

Morocco's culinary contributions has a far-reaching effect, not only on modern Arabic cooking, but also across the Mediterranean as it takes great advantage of the natural bounty of the land which has green pastures and open farmland.

As such, eating is not only practical but also a social ritual.

This food-fest is helmed by guest Chef Hassan Bouhout, the world-Guinness book recognized chef.

"I am delighted with the opportunity to share the food of my heritage and culture with the guests of Sharq Village and Spa," says Chef Bouhout.

"The cuisine of Morocco will provide unique experience to diners as they enjoy flavors both familiar and new to them."

Chef Bouhout will offer the best-loved Moroccan dishes such as couscous, plumped semolina grains served with a variety of toppings; tajine, lamb with apricots; bisteeya, a delectable three-layer pie which is both savoury and sweet wrapped with the thinnest of pastry; mechoui, tender roasted lamb; and djaj msharmel, a succulent roasted chicken cooked with olives and lemon.

What is your favourite Moroccan dish?
