Any advice on good areas to live family 2 adults & 3 kids under 7yrs

Hoping someone could give me a few pointers on nice areas/compounds to live.

I have a job with HMC and they are proposing Barwa City or an allowance of 6500QR a month.

From waht I hear Barwa is a bit far out and little ammenites built?

I had heard HMC have been talking about increasing the allowance for a while to keep up with the market - but nothing concrete so I'll have to supplement the allowance to go anywhere else?

Any suggestions on good family locations would be welcome.

Where to find these compounds? Any websites you can recommend? Any compounds with many westerners living in?

Ain Khaled Gate is a nice compound in the whole sale market area,but a bit far from HMC. Lots of residential compunds in the Abu Hamour area as well.
