FIFA: No summer World Cup for Qatar in 2022

Fifa has completely ruled out any prospect of the Qatar 2022 World Cup being played in the summer.
President Sepp Blatter had already said the tournament would be in November or December but organisers had still hoped to host it in June and July.
But Fifa general secretary Jerome Valcke says it could take place between 15 November and 15 January.
"The dates for the World Cup (in Qatar) will not be June-July," Valcke said on Wednesday.
The scheduling of the tournament has been debated since it was awarded to Qatar in December 2010. Fears have been raised that the summer heat would be dangerous for players and fans alike.
However, Fifa Vice-President Jim Boyce said that he was 'shocked' and 'surprised' by Valcke's comments as the decision was yet to be made by the Fifa executive committee.
"As it stands it remains in the summer with no decision expected until end of 2014 or March 2015," Boyce said.
Valcke had said he thought the tournament would be held "between 15 November and 15 January at the latest".
"If you play between 15 November and the end of December that's the time when the weather conditions are best, when you can play in temperatures equivalent to a warm spring season in Europe, averaging 25 degrees.
"That would be perfect for playing football."
The Africa Cup of Nations is already scheduled for January 2023.
Blatter said two months ago that a firm decision on dates for the World Cup would only be made in December 2014.
The Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee has indicated it would be happy to switch to a winter World Cup. \

Qatar national team will be handled Djamel Belmadi, replacing Fahad Thani starting this year. Handle Qatar after success at the domestic level to bring Qatari club Lekhwiya won in 2011 and 2012.
That would be my guess too Brit - exactly the same dates as the US NFL season. That's going to upset Fox Sports a little bit.
Touche! Well spotted and my bad...
I suppose that just leaves mid November to mid December..

January and February 2022 is the Winter Olympics. Blatter has ruled out hosting the world cup during that time, so if you are suggesting January, then that will make it a 2023 event?
Blatter has already decided , but is playing games. The new schedule will require European clubs taking a "winter break".. December is Christmas, so I can't see it happening before 5th January
