Incident at Lulu Gharaffa

I was with my sister and a friend in Lulu Gharaffa when the incident happened.

We were inside the car waiting for the pick-up at the back to clear the way when I heard an unusual sound. We get off the car seeing this pick-up hurrying to leave the parking. We found a small scratched at lower right side and a lose part (lose because the same part on the left is intact). Gladly we got the plate number of the pick-up - - - 195314. Then after a few seconds they came back, they got off the pick-up (consisting of 4-5 Indian men). They asked what happened, so my friend told them there is a scratch. According to them nothing happened, it was only their steering wheel that we heard. I asked them, if nothing happened then why they came back. They said just to clear the issue. My friend told them maybe because we know your plate number and we can report to the police. After few minutes of insisting it is not their fault (all of them talking), one guy who seems to be their leader raised his voice at us saying “go ahead if you make problem for us, we will definitely make problem for you also. We are working with a Sheikh.” I can see his face turning red because of anger. Still in relaxed voice I told him “do you want me to call Hamad for ambulance. Your blood pressure is getting high.” Just to lessen the tension between them, he shouted at me saying “go ahead call Hamad, I am working in Hamad”. Two Arabic expats for sure saw what he did that is why they came into the picture. They talked in Arabic then after they spoke to us. They told my friend that it is only small scratched, that it is ok. Then those Indians left.

Given the same situation and if it happened that they are talking to a Qatari lady, for sure he will not shout like that. This uneducated Indian guy doesn’t know the word respect. He behaved like that because of having a sponsor who happens to be a Sheikh (if what he said was true). Some Indian professionals are not like that I know. Hope employers in Qatar also focus on the behavior of their employees. You don’t have to threaten others just to clear whatever you have done wrong.

@ Katecroos: Ohh...ohh...I also have faced a similar situation, were in a Woman from the Western region once near Garaffa, i took sympathy since she was with her children but till the end she maintained her so called "Attitude" my my...Hence, can i conclude or blame all Westerners are filled up with egos and pride which would become a racist statement...Stop been generic and be specific.. I can understand your anxiety but it is an incident between a bunch of morons and yourself not between any nation as you portray here.

It's illegal for a garage to repair a vehicle without a police report. Are you suggesting she should break the law?

I am simply suggesting she follow the law like a decent person rather than breaking it, but I understand that being law abiding doesn't come easily to all people.

Forgiveness doesn't fix damaged vehicles, police reports do.

Go to the police today if you haven't already.

Woman is angry at man for hitting her car and the denying it... so most likely scenario is that the woman had sex with a man of the same nationality?

Wow, you guys just have some really weird women hating issues.

I understand and take no offense at you saying Indians...most of them being here for very long have sure developed a tail which they swing around more often than not. Report them and let them be held by their necks and thrown outta this country, banned for lifetime to die a miserable death deprived of food, clothing and shelter. Show no mercy for such bast**ds. They are a product of the gutters and let them go back to it. I therefore never feel any sympathy for them just for this reason at the way they are made to live and get treated here. Human Rights should get the full picture about how they behave before they come to their rescue. In all probability they will give up the fight for their rights accepting that they deserve to be treated so or may be even worse. When they are considered to be treated badly this is their attitude, imagine if they are treated well how would they behave. It will become a safety issue for most of us who as of now feel sympathetic for them.

@BOXBE16DOBARA : I am not against Indians as I said "SOME INDIAN PROFESSIONALS ARE NOT LIKE THAT". Uneducated ones are most of the time the ones who are feeling proud.

just give a number to police.... they will run to department along with his sponsor "sheikh" lol...

It's not too late. Go to the police, tell them the story and give them the license plate.

Then let's see who really works for "sheikh".

These guys just don't respect women and believe if they shout loudly enough they can get away with anything.

Besides, you'll need a police report to fix your vehicle.

Go to Rayyan Traffic Police NOW and report the incident. Either they report you or you report them. Tell the authorities the whole story and they are very good listeners. Tell them how they intimidated you.

Kate, u missed a chance to book the culprits. Should have called the traffic police to put an end to their shouting & misbehaviors. Never allow anyone to raise their voice in public which is unacceptable. Take care in future.
