Expat to showcase opportunities in Qatar in London

STEVE Mackie, founder of BusinessStartUpQatar, a consulting firm specialising in business formation in Qatar, has been selected to represent Qatar as one of the key speakers at the 2013 Going Global (Grasping the International Business Show) which will be held at the Olympia, in London from November 28 to 29. The yearly event, held in partnership with the UK Trade and Investment Department, is one of the top UK national exhibitions for businesses that are looking to expand internationally. It will bring together over 30,000 business owners and  visitors from different parts of the world. The audience will include CEOs, MDs as well as key business-decision makers of some Fortune 500 companies and SMES – particularly in Europe and the BRICS markets (Brazil, Russia, India,China and South Africa) interested in expanding their businesses to other parts of the world, especially the Middle East.

Talking to Qatar Tribune on Saturday, Mackie, who will be speaking on the topic‘Looking at Business in Qatar without the Rose Coloured Glasses’ at the two-day event, said that he counted it a privilege to showcase the vast potential Qatar has at the business show.

“Having lived here for over four years, I am a living testimony to the fact that there is a huge potential and opportunity in this beautiful country.The people are friendly and the business environment is superb. Anybody with a great idea will definitely make headway here as the country is open to doing business,” he said. As the sole exhibitor from Qatar, BusinessStartUp-Qatar will be showcasing the various business opportunities in the country, especially in the build-up to the 2022 World Cup. The company will also be highlighting the advantages of establishing a business in Qatar as well as enlightening participants on the necessary steps to be taken to have a business presence in the country.

“I intend to correct some of the erroneous impressions out there about Qatar during my presentation and also highlight the importance of having a business presence in the country. Qatar is gradually emerging as a major tourist and financial hub in the Middle East and the best time to be in the country is now,” Mackie said.
