Check with your company regarding the bank(s) they deal with. Make an Excel sheet. and note

1) the limit you are entitled to based on what amount? - of salary, basic or gross

2) What are the bank charges from the time of signing, ie: one off charge. fixed charge from loan and interest, insurance charges, types of insurance charged and what does it cover. Months (Usually June or summer holidays) the bank will not deduct the EMI and rate of interest. what is payment is delayed? due to delay in salary from company or return from leave.

3) Monthly interest on reducing balance, insurance on reducing balance, admin charges etc etc

4) will they provide you a statement every month or quarter with actual charges or actual amount that goes towards your loan.

Think twice. When you take the loan, the bank executive (Customer service) will promise the earth and the moon.

Make sure to always stay in touch with your customer service person.

Check your statements often, you will find that half your EMI is towards unknow admin charges.

All the best.

I've been with CBQ for some years now, i took out a loan before and paid it all off. good customer service, good company. they have on-line banking which i use when im out of the country and the sms service is great. they gave me a debit card and a creditcard the moment i applied with no questions. now my account (salary comes in) even earns interest. they say there are hidden charges but these are only insurance charges which are minimal... i suggest you shop around (ask) each bank how much their interest rate are specially with the amount of money you will take out.

Depends what the loan is for and how much you are planning to borrow.
