Edifis, I would freeze it if I were you. Then, on the day of travel,wrap it , still frozen, in newspaper and put in a ziploc bag. Put it in your suitcase, not in the bag you take in the cabin.
Yesterday I cooked some Apple filling for Apple Pie.
What I did was cleaned the Apples, cut it in 4 pieces,cleaned out the seeds and then boiled them adding a little water and a sprinkle of salt.
Then I added a little sugar and lots of cinnamon powder.
Aftter getting the req consistency I kept it aside in a bowl.
Then in a frying pan I heated a bit of olive oil, put a little fennel seeds and sprinkled some cumin seeds and poured the apple paste on it. Then some more cinnamon powder until I got a thick brown paste. Then I put some golden raisins on it.
I tried the same recipe before too but it turned out not so good....This time however it is yummy! It is still in my fridge....quite a lot of it.
Now my problem is I would like to take some for my mom in India. I will be going on 16th December. So I put it in a small jar. But I didn't use any preservatives. Will it stay until 16th or will it spoil?
well thanx buddies for tips , now i will try all the three tips from Nm , elegance and tahsinmim.... mostly fresh shrimps are hard to deveined ... so i avoid just becoz of smell ....

Strom, wash your hands with lemon juice and salt, the smell will go 100%. It even takes away garlic and onion smell from the hands!
i have just had sweetcorn ice cream and papaya :)
NM i prefer the clean ones so mostly devined frozen.... i tried fresh but it took two days to get the smell off my hands :-)
