ok i just checked for you; my receipt says 484 for the headunit so yes its 500:-)
buddy one more thing; i bought the headunit, speakers and woofer separately on three different occasions..so ended up paying 3 times for 3 separate installations lol. you might want to be smarter and buy everything and then get it all installed together in one go..will save you money, since I'm guessing they will charge you crazy in India because they're angry you didn't buy from them lol
and one more thing, if for some reason you can't use the wiring provided with the equipment, then make sure you get GOOD aftermarket wiring for the system..seems like a small thing but makes a difference..and go to the best place possible for the installation. best of luck:-)
i bought mine from lulu..paid for it along with other electronics so don't have the exact figure but for sure it was under 500 rials..
i got myself a smaller pioneer 150 watt woofer which has it's own built in amplifier..goes neatly under the seat or in the passenger foot-well. its obviously less powerful than the bigger tubes and cones, but its enough for my needs, which were to get clear punchy bass (not booming) and to not lose too much space in the car/trunk..which would be the case with a big woofer which would then also need an amplifier. i got this one from the pioneer showroom on salwa road for 600.
speaker size: for most cars, a rear speaker of 6'x 9'(inches) will fit. for front, the round speakers of 6.5'inches are usual. i would guess jbl speakers might be better than the pioneers i got but don't know..very satisfied with my own purchase though:-) best of luck:-)
Thanks for your update. Well, can you provide me approximately how much did you cost Pioneer DEh-4350. Secondly, from which outlet you bought. How about Woofer and JBL Speakers?
1) the brand depends on your budget. A good feature packed head unit which I found while upgrading my own music setup is the Pioneer DEh-4350..decent power output, ipod/iphone/usb/aux connectivity and other goodies..it also has 2 pre-outs for your planned sub and amp.
2) i suggest you buy your unit from one of the department stores like lulu/safari/carrefour and not from the car shops here..there's a big difference in prices between the two.
