Desert Camping

I started planning for the weekend ahead of time :)
A friend of mine suggested I go desert camping near Ghariah or Sealine for the weekened but not sure if I need a license for that.
If I do need a license (even for one day of camping), do you guys know where can I get it from and how much does it cost?
Also what are the best places out there... The weather is great and I want to make the most out of it :)
Thanks in advance

Yes I think u do, better check with the concerned authorities.
Also heard a hefty fine is placed on unlicensed camps
inland sea,.as far as you can go to the saudi border.. more then enough secluded spots in between dunes and on the beach,. to camp out,. we go out atleast 2 times a month or so for a overnight and always found a nice spot. never been bothered by noise quad riders or so
Hi guys.
What's it like for camping over night on Al Wakra beach. Is it peacefully or do people spoil the peace and quiet with quad bikes etc?
Has anyone found any nice clean secluded quiet spots in Qatar for camping?
Thanks
Colin
29th Nov is a full moon? awesome...
Thanks mate
I've tried those camp tent from careffore long time back 3 years I guess,,... and still ok.
few thoughts... whenever to camp... just move away from th access road or path of an ATV... they do a lot of disturbing during from precesious night...
Are Lulu/Carrefour tents good?
also LULU has cheap(er) tents and sleepmats and bags.
for the highend of the market shop at gosport in city center mall lots of gear but at a higher price.
Thank you all :)
i have been reading some of the earlier posts regarding the subject. Carrefour seems to sell low-cost tents. anynbody tried those? any good?
do you have a GPS grid ?
wy not post the GPS grid, and see who shows up at the 29th ?
i drive out to hang out at least and if the crowd is ok camp over
I was actually planning a night-out on the 29th of this month which would be a Thursday and also a full moon night. There are some dunes at Karara area near the American Base camp. I have been there once and realised it would be a nice spot for a night-out.
You got the family beach at the sea line, the weather is splendid at night.
well there not campsites,... there campspots
you camp anywhere you like,..so just find a spot with was not used lately to camp on
i go as a Land Rover driver by the "leave no trace" policy but that seems not the normall procedure here in qatar, so it is realy obiously when i spot was used to camp over
dig a hole at a far distance from the camp spot;)
back home a have a "porta potti" chemical toilet,.didnt she those yet in qatar,so we go old school and dig a hole.
one campstore at the falcon souk sell a toilet ring chair
so you either dig a hole and put the seat over it or you tie a carbage bag to the seat
cracydutch lols.. thats cracy
Like in Africa, beach camping sites has washrooms at the far end corner of the site. Its few acres of beach with trees and mangroves :(
Over night tenting ? what you guys do for the toilet?
also Zekreet area is nice to camp out,
if you drive from sealine resort to inland sea by the coastline (thru the dunes and not the dessert highway) there are a few nice camp spots as well witch are clean and not crowded later on the day.
we tent to leave at midday from sealine resort do a bit offroading / dune bashing and then camp out with and have a dive in sea, some stay overnight as well (me included)
you do need a real 4x4 tough to do so, for zekreet area a crossover will work fine
Thanks for your suggestions :) I've heard about Fuwairit but never gone there
you can camp anywhere you want.......
i am going for camping this weekend again with my buddies..
Does that include spending the night there?
not needed,.just drive to sealine and camp out with BBQ is even better, we normally camp out on the beach
