Can you accept that offer

eventhought they shouldnt accept such offers. lets calculate it together. regardless whats your nationality and your expenses back home but at the end of the day your living where you are which is Qatar. so basically each one of us should look for the cost of living such as accommodation/transportations/foods/mobiles etc..

now if your friends ( doctors ) who are taking 5,000/-QR.

they need at least at least with hard diet 1,000/-QR for food.

mobile 250 minimum.

gas lets say 300 a month ?

house minimum of 3500 that's if his single and wants a one bed room in a shared villa or in old building.

1000+250+300+3500 = 5050/-QR ill give your doctor 50/-QR every month as charity.

do you want to calculate more ? ok lets do it together...

ticket every year ? ok the company will provide him.

expenses for going vacation? ok he wont go for vacation?

going out at least 2 times a week ? or he will be staying all the time at home and leave only to work?

wont he buy new clothes ? ok he doesnt like changing.

wont he use shampoo for taking shower? thats the reasons who are accepting low salary having very bad smell.

and the most and important thing that i left it to the end which is the reason that he accepted this low offer is the personal situation that he/she has as what you said brite.... so probably he has to send money every month back home to support his family right ? are those 5000 giving birth every month for another 5000 or what ?

Supply and demand. People are willing to come on such salries. It all depends on your personal situation. If you aren't happy , then don't accept - simple as that. i know doctors who are earning 5000QR a month.

That is what happened to me. They have a enormous budget, but they will not pay well unless your Qatari!!

They received my CV that has extensive experience in hospital administration, and didn't have a specific job posting that they were interviewing me for, just like your wife, because Wakra is not fully open yet until 2013. They just want staff at a cheap salary so they can get it open on time.

The Qatari managers said they liked my CV, and said they are very impressed, but offered me only 4000 r full package. This was for a supervisor position for all floors with rotating shifts. Insulting to say the least. And yes, i did say GFYS!

And I proudly left with head held high.

So whoever wants it, your welcome to it, and this will keep these Companies offering low salaries, until enough people say not acceptable.

I think you live in a different country to say that sqms75 have answered and understood what I mean also let me point that we did not apply for that position specially our application was in general ( if there is a vacancy matching the applicant Education and EX )

what made me post this story to highlight some issues whed hiring people here so to avoid the double work look up to sqms75's replay and then may be you will learn something from that .

If I am not mistaken here there are only looking for a Medical Records Clerk, maybe you are over qualified for this job and should have not applied for it in the first place.

Should not accept. if you accept then they will think different way, day by day they will reduce salary range. In future your next generation will be suffered. I think everybody should have the morality and level of acceptance. Look how much getting the labor? Based on expense salary should be high. We have reduced salary ourself because some of the other person have accepted their low salary offer then they have started thinking that they can get cheap labor. If no one accept then they will realise salary need to be more.

I really don't see what the issue is. They made an offer. You found it derisory. You rejected it.

Perhaps you should have requested a rough idea of the package before applying.

I know what i am worth. They don't deserve me. Im very educated, and hard working, career minded lady. Not going to be someones slave. I have my dignity, and a real degree, not one I bought, like most people. And real work history.

Glad you agree with me that we do not need to be insulted and offered such a low salary that is less or equal to a unskilled worker.. we need to be paid correctly for the work we trained, and or studied to do and have years expeience for.

To many times i have had offers that were so insulting to me. I had to tell them to gfys!!!!

If i wanted to earn that sh. tty salary i could just stay in my own country, and not have went to unni. or have no work history at all bagging groceries and make 1000r more then your offer!!!

The right job is out there for your wife, and not just a job, but a career, if she choses where employees are appreciated and valued. Believe me, even in Qatar, they do exist.

I really respect all answers both who advised to accept and the others who did not agree with this offer but just let me share my personal feelings .

the main rule to offer job to someone is to pay him back the reasonable salary for the job he is going to do also to respect the labour law and the human rights rules

for me i'm sure we are not cheap to accept this stupid offer and with all respect to all positions Drivers , house maids , cleaners but still this offer can be only for the said positions not for educated person .

Money is nothing our dignity and self respect are everything

As I said, go to apply only at the private hospitals and clinics. I was offered a shi.ty salary from them. Very insulting. I have medical records exp. as well as being being an hospital admin. Specialist for over 15 years in pain management, that is all they offered. No one should accept that. Especially if you are not desperate. Take your time and search for just the right job, with the right company.

HMC is government ran hospital. They only hire those women who are already on husband Rp. For pocket money

For example The maximum salary for a supervisory post. was offered as 4000r. I know, because I was interviewed by them for Wakra just a few weeks ago. And was shocked at the low salary, and I am American. That's less then I would get as a uneducated person bagging groceries in my country.

Better off applying at the private hospitals like al emadi etc. if you need to have the additional income to support you and your husband.

This is consider as additional money to your family because you have already income

too low .
