what is the life of canned beer
My friend somehow purchased thru a friend, 24 cans of beer last thursday, but he has to go urgently to home country ,, may be for 2-3 months due to some urgency
he does not want to gift this beer to someone , , not due to the fact about the money,, but he does not have permit to purchase, again he has to depend someone
- can these beer cans spoiled in 2-3 months
- what is the life beer, if he does nto keep in fridge
- and when kept in fridge ?
friends pls advise
he says, he will not gift to anyone,, because he does not have a PERMIT to get this again,,,so he will keep
he will keep those 20 cans in room temperature ( not in fridge ) and will use it again ,even if he is coming after 6 months !!!!!!!!!!
Nothing beats Home brew.
Fresh beer tastes better but don't worry, it won't go "bad" in 2-3 months.
It survived a nuke and still tasted the same.
The expiry dates are according to the laws of Qatar, not to the producer's specs! Qatar wants one year, that's why it says one year. But it has nothing to do with the shelf live of canned beer. Normally it's two to three years unless it is in Flan's fridge, of course.
All joking aside, canned beer has a shelf life, of about 6 motnhs after which it tastes decidedly "off". Keeping it in the fridge may help to extend this.
I remember the expiry of Heineken as about 1 year...Threw out about twelve cans as my hubby did'nt touch it..Our security loved us for it though the expiry date had got over..
Good News, The Beer Survives: Planning For a Nuclear Apocalypse.
Haven't we all been there? You're sitting with your buddies, ruminating over a hoppy brew, and someone drunkenly (but with sophistication) asks, "If someone dropped the bomb and we survived, could we still drink our beer?"
Well, friends, the Civil Effects Test Group shared your concern and, in 1957, they performed a little experiment—with nukes!
"The Effect of Nuclear Explosions on Commercially Packaged Beverages" is not only one of the best names for a study ever, but it also answers a legitimate concern—if water is no longer potable because of a nuclear attack, what do you do?
Great news! "Drink beer" is an acceptable answer to that question. Two bombs were set off in Nevada, one "with an energy release equivalent to 20 kilotons of TNT," and the other with 30 kilotons. Other than some cans and bottles which were broken or destroyed in the subsequent explosion, the remainder looked just fine.
But looks aren't enough, so some poor soul was tasked with the responsibility of taste testing. Don't worry, though. They checked to see if the cans and bottles were radioactive and, well, the radiation "did not carry over to the contents." So that's a victory, right?
I know what you're saying—what about the taste, man? Will I still taste those citrusy notes and a hint of chocolate in my micro-brew? The short version is "maybe." You will probably also sense a hint of something else. Not sure what a radioactive wasteland tastes like, exactly, but this might be it since it was recorded that the drinks nearest to the blast were reported as being "definitely off."
So the news is both good and bad. You won't die if you drink your irradiated canned and bottled booze, but it's probably going to be a bit skunked. Let's face it—we should probably encase the good stuff in a lead casing, just to be extra sure.

kiwi, or you could drink a lot of Listerine...beats the beer breath...;)
( hope they don't take it off the shelves now...)
So true good old joe. I hate when my wife tells me (and I do) suck the last of my Rexona roll on dry when I'm out of beer. My pick for tough times; Lynx Africa.
Look at the EXPIRY DATE on the can.
Better check first. It could be Budweiser :O(
They say beer and other alcholholic drinks dont get spoiled out here. They only get better with time and for people who dont have access to it even expired drinks taste just fine and when they cant have them they turn to lotion and cologne
Canned beer has a shelf life of three days. Give me your address and I will do you the favour of taking it off your hands for free. I will share it among the QLers that drink (that I know of).
usually about 2 days in my fridge.
LoooooooooL Brit
Best thing is to donate them to needy QLers. Your friend will feel much better for it.
