Nonsense Vs Commonsense

Scene 01 : at Nonsense Round about

There were 100 persons from each side at this R/A, totaling 400 in all, but all in their cars, alone.
Result- chaos, delays for ALL, frustrations, stress, loss of fuel (noted, it’s in abundance but what about environment, carbon emission)

Scene 02 : at Commonsense Round about

There were 100 persons from each side at this R/A, totaling 400 in all, but all in 20 seater buses, making 5 buses from each side.
Result- Timely arrival for ALL, Happy Travelling, sleeping & music for some, site seeing for rest…..happy journey, no-stress, long life :)

britexpat, since you left Qatar, Ramada has changed its name to Raddison Blue..:)

So technically there in only one Ramada hotel left in Qatar in the Mesherib Area, called Ramada Encore ..:)

painther said walk...???? that's ...not common sense here in Qatar, in my day we walked, but different climate.

walk...???? Nonsense,...... that's not so easy given the weather here is hot in winter, hotter in spring, and very hot in summer....

But as you said, if schools were all the same and in each neighborhood then it would be possible to walk, but kids go to different schools for a reason. And in a dream world, work would be in walking distance too.

UK That would make great sense... Bigger housing projects should have School, Hospital, supermarket, etc within the compound... it would be convenient for everybody...

In Mumbai they do a lot of projects like this... and due to the close proximity of every amenity the projects sell better than those without these amenities.

1kid one car

1kid one car

yep, it works in Portland, where I am from.

But remember, this is Qatar, give years to develop. Rome was not built in a day people.

Look at what Qatar was 50 yrs back, I think progress is good for a developing country.

Anyway, Qatar is trying to make the R/A's with signals, it just takes time, and laborers...no natives want to be in a trade post, they only want a manager job, so getting expats to do vocational work is necessary, and teaching these "manager's" to be human to these workers is another thing. Everything in Qatar is delayed, due to lack of workers, or lack of workers being paid...........

I have just invested in a "as new" 20 seater 1992 Coastyer and will be offering transportation services to ease congestion..

I will call it "The Billion Car" service

Brit, will it be hot pink like your Kia??????? with fur on the dash? ;p

blistering.. Buses are not the answer. if you want people to travel by buses then you have to create bus lanes so these bus lanes get priority over the slow moving traffic. Most Western countries have dedicated bus lanes.

So it just a dream like i said!

Commonsense: A tunnel or a flyover so no one will wait, buses and/or cars.

Nonsense: to find someone still talking about R/A's

And the bus should be the 20 seater types with one exit door, the biger ones generally have two exit doors (back and front)...the driver may find it quite difficult to align them together with the doors of the supermarket else there will be a dispute who should walk that extra step...:)

everyday i go via nonsense R/A and dream of commonsense R/A,

no, i never used a karwa bus

By Prism• 18 Sep 2012 11:54
Prism

Sounds good...only issue is everyone on the bus has to get up early by say about 30-45 minutes to get to the pick up point and same in reverse on return. (Result: Go to bed early the night before (a bit curtailed social life or time spent with family) if not.. less sleep, feel uncomfortable and crazy, spoilt mood, erratic behavior at work, affects health, frustration by superiors questioning, stress and continous bad behavior may get one fired)!!!

P.S.: I dont work for any car manufacturer.

Painter, my answer in scene 02 answers your question in scene 01.

Not everyone here would like to travel that way, and not all buses are comfortable as your company bus. Have you traveled in Karwa bus?
