To All Karwa Cab Passengers

Hello All Qlers...

The same topic - Karwa & Its service - But, a difference, its about, how do they act if we follow what they are insisted...

Bit confusing huh.. Lemme explain...

Karwa Publishing, Advertising everywhere its trip is free when the meter is OFF. There is one incident, My friend, she used to travel in a short distance in Doha always from Morning and Evening (of course she is educated & employed). The meter will show the maximum of 7Qrs for each travel and pays the minimum Qr.10.00.

Oneday evening she got a Karwa Cab. She noticed the driver is not putting the meter ON and the music in the vehicle is bit louder..! The driver never care the customer. She insisted to put the meter ON. He never mind. When she reached home, the driver asked 15Qrs..!! She told I wont pay you any penny. There, the argument begins.. then she give him Qrs.2.00 and told you have this enough. She threw the money into her face. And started shouting.. finally he grab 10Qrs and drove away.

She was really shocked and didn't know what to do next. But, she could only notice the 5digit number on that car and its says "V80014".

Immediately she called 999. Its the funniest part in this incident. They told to note down a number... and it was 44588888...(&(*^*&%*)and insisted to complain there by calling this number..!! Still I can't stop laugh..lolz

Next, the number 44588888 was engaged or not responding to reach for some time. Or tried a few times. She managed to find the email address, and send a mail to them. Next day morning got a call from Karwa, asking about the incident.

The gentleman told.. we need the car number. We are unable to track the "V80014". So call me back when you have the car number.

She left it ignored... There after no calls, no messages, nothing... They also ignored it nicely. One headache over..!!

But, now a days she does support the private taxis' until getting a reply from Karwa.

What do you think?? Is there any use acting what Karwa says in the campaign?? Useless..

Actually Karwa through their inability to run a professional taxi service is creating a new industry by encouraging people to look for alternative transportation. This comes in the form of private drivers for hire. At least the private taxis for hire are there when you need them and you can always reason with them. Karwa drivers are also a real hazard on the road with their professionally trained drivers.

I still dont understand why she tried to pay him at all?

Karwa is such a loser... half the world knew about it during the Asian games. The games visitors & athletes must have been shocked when karwa drivers asked them if they knew the route - where and how to reach...

the question of karwa driver "do you know the route?" is asked to check if the guy can be waylaid...

...by 2022 the whole world will know what a primitive village Doha is.

I complained once after seeing a driver actually get out of the vehicle and physically threaten a guy and his wife for having a row about the bill. The driver looked like he was ready to punch this guy in the face, and all this was happening right outside a mall in full view of everyone.

I've often wondered what the outcome was.

It's no secret to patrons that Karwa has an absolutely terrible reputation around town for being staffed by a but of immoral thieves who refuse to use meters, but does management care?

Or should we assume that given the nationality of 90% of Karwa patrons are Asian, no one really cares?

Yeah Fubar, complaint filed verbally and on the web! BUT I reaaly don't know what's the outcome. I presumed that Karwa 1107 driver was already fired. I think he's a serial offender trying to destroy the image of Karwa.

Have you ever logged a complaint, friendlyme?

And if so, were you happy with Karwa's response?

Most Karwa taxis have 4 digits only! And I have encountered a month ago this type of arrogant driver. I called up Karwa hotline number 4458-8906. Then I go to their website and filed my complaint.

You should specify the DATE, TIME, PLACE and ARGUMENT where it happens. Because there are TWO drivers using that taxi on shift basis.

Do you know why it is happening again and again? We, passengers are not bothered to make proper complaints and follow ups. What is that V80014?

Got the same experience,,from City Center to Al Nasr St. the Karwa driver didn't turn on the meter even we insisted. My husband told me to stop arguing,,so as expected when we went down the car his charging us of more than what we're paying before. But my husband gave him the usual fare and ask the driver, "you want to take the money or you want me to call the police". The driver was angry but he took the money.

I'd settle for professional drivers who don't steal money from you with absurd excuses like "broken meter sir".

Most of us would be happy with an apology - no need to fire anyone unless he's a serial offender.

fubar, if that's what it takes then so be it... that would send a message to the other drivers.

If you really insist on complaining to Karwa, the number I was told to call is 4458 8906.

But does anyone really believe that the management of this company actually cares?

What are they going to do? Fire the driver, and then send him home, and then bring another one? As if they could be bothered.
