Apple TV (and Bonjour in general) with Qtel-provided Huawei HG655b VDSL modem
Hi QLers,
I hope I'm not reposting (search gave me nothing), but I was wondering if anyone has successfully set up Apple TV (or any other home network devices running with Bonjour protocol) with the Qtel-provided Huawei HG655b modem?
I'm having difficulties myself, only getting the ATV to show up intermittently before losing contact again.
I've Googled for the past few days and found out that Huawei devices in general seem to have issues with Bonjour, but I've also found a few specks of light implying it might in the end still be achievable, but I still haven't succeeded.
So my plea to those Apple-minded QLers who have Qtel ADSL (and Apple TV or some wireless printing device set up) is to share your secrets - should I bang my head against the wall, or should I just go and buy a separate compatible wifi access point (and if so, which model/make do you recommend)?
Thanks in advance!
Okay so I went ahead and got a separate wifi access point (D-Link), which I connected to the Qtel-provided modem. Works like a charm.
Sad the Huawei doesn't support the Bonjour protocol.
