Moving in 3 weeks - where to live in Doha?
Hi, we are moving to Doha in 3 weeks time. My husband's work is in West Bay. Our son is turning 3 in January and I was thinking of putting him in Doha COllege or British INternational.
Budget for accommodation is 8000- 10,000QR.
From reading the forum, all compound near school is around al waab but too far from West bay?
I checked compass & ASD but too pricey for us.
Ideas, suggestion where we can live that can perhaps a mid compromise? Use agent or look privately? Any good agents u can recommend? Or perhaps other decent (with reasonable fee) school closer to work? Much thanks.
I'm staying at Ezdan but seeing as you have a hotel room for when you first arrive here you will have more breathing space than I did to get set up. I wouldn't consider Ezdan to be ideal for a family or couple set-up just my two cents.
For Rent Apartment commercial role of the first - two entrances to the apartment (2 door) suitable for 2 licensing the same sponsor companies.
3 rooms + store + hall + kitchen +2 bathroom. Full furnished with furniture and air conditioners. Monthly rent 7150 QR MUST buy furniture.

Dear kdn,
We are trying to break our lease on a four bedroom villa just north of Duhail. It is in a small compound of 10 villas with a remote controlled gate on the entrance so it is very safe for kids. It also has a swimming pool and gym in the compound. It is only about a 15 minutes drive to west bay and close to shops and nurseries and schools. The lease is for $11000 per month and the villa is fully furnished. If you would like to contact us, please call 33426835 or 33477382.
Good luck with the move, kdn!
Hi All, thanks for the comments. We are moving from Saudi - so my husband can't come first to set things up unfortunately. We will be put in a hotel for a few weeks so at least we have time to look. After that if we still cant find suitable accommodation, then we'll stay in service apt for another month or so. Might have to lift up our budget a little from the look of it, thought want to save from the accommodation allowance given to us. Kharatyat or Al Gharrafa seems good. One thing I noticed is all villas are very large. We live in 2 br large villa in Riyadh & dont even use the second living room and 2nd bedroom. We'll see how it goes and might even consider apartment. Please if you have other advice - agent, other suburb & school to consider, do let me know.
I would wait until you have the nursery/school place confirmed and choose an area close to that location or in between that and work.
My name is Craig and I am MD of Mirage Properties here in Qatar.
To get something either close to West Bay or near to Al Waab, you will struggle for a compound villa with your available budget. However, if you consider the Gharrafa area and further out, towards Kharityat, as mentioned in a previous post, you will have more chance of finding something that fits your needs.
Please take a look on our website www.mirageproperty.com to get a better idea of what is generally available. Many of our listed properties have google maps attached to give you a an idea of location in relation to various schools, etc.
Once you've had a look, please feel free to contact us, via the contact button on the site, and we will ensure that one of our leasing consultants contacts you, to discuss your needs in more detail, hopefully then coming up with some suitable options for you.
I wish you well in your search and hope we can be of assistance.
Kind regards
Craig at Mirage
we have realestate so we help you whn u want so inform me ill search for u
You can get a ginormous three and a half bedroom villa in Kharatyat or Al Gharrafa for that sort of money, 1/2 hour to airport, 15 minutes to West bay. Cehck out my blog about moving to Qatar for some general info about life here. http://waggingthedog.wordpress.com/category/qatar/
Apologies for sounding negative........only we have spent the last 3 days driving around lots of compounds and there is nothing of any quality for that price.
Regards
you can have a look here and there. i hope your husband is coming over earlier than the family to make all the arrangements. it will take a while to find the right accomodation, especially if you are on a tight budget like you. i have looked on the market and it is terrible, best is to drive around and ask in the compounds. but dont get shocked for your budget you will only get a basic accomodation. in the end we had an agent looking for us and showing us only what we wanted. can highly recommend him. the drive is in general chaotic but within 25minutes you are nearly everywhere in Doha. so if you are use to commuting, no big deal!

u can get a furnished flat in ezdan towers (west bay) which is suitable for ur budget.
