Dear all, my situation is this, after a lengthy recruitment process i finally signed my contract with a qatar multinational company in early July.
i was informed that the hr department would then apply for my work visa, which should take 4 weeks.
8 weeks later i still have no visa, i understand that ramadan and eid can delay things but is this normal?
the hr dept wont help as they just tell me 'no clearance yet'
i am just looking for some similair storeys or advice about timescales to ease my worries a bit ! its all extremely frustrating, please help.

My husband is also awaiting a visa, as are several others who have been given the same role! It's driving us all mad but glad to know its not just us! ;) we are also all from the UK!

In my case, they wanted my education certificate and passport copy and my signature on the contract, and a report of a medical exam. I sent these to them on 30th august and i got an email on 5th September from an Admin office saying my visa issued and asking me to confirm the date i would like to arrive so they can get the flights booked.

I t depends on the company profile situation with the ministry of labor and their visa account and your nationality...it varies widely but as long as the company are telling u wait, then it means u have to wait, the good thing is that they havent got a rejection so far.

Same problem with me. I accepted my job offer on 17 July & was told the visa would take a couple of weeks. Even taking into account Ramadan and Eid, this is getting frustrating - still waiting. HR not helpful, don't reply to my emails.
