OK.. For a start, i don't know why they're called sneakers, BUT Nike is preparing to launch their most expensive shoes ever.

At $315 the LeBron X's will be Nike's priciest offering to date.

So parents - would you pay this type of money for a pair of sneakers ?

I definitely wouldn't..

why why why so many people lost their marbles. why would you pay that much for them the problem is yes the are marketed at kids and this will make them think they can play as good as him. The bottom line is he was/is a good player before they came out. What people seem to forget is if a professional player is wearing there own trainer or boots. The pair that they have is nothing like the one in the shops. Even if they look identical. The one the player wears has been scientifically made and moulded for his/her particular feet. where as the ones in the shops are mass produced. I've told kids this when teaching and coaching sports and they have gone 'oh yeah i didnt know that'.

Unfortunately Lebron is the favorite of my 16 year-old son..And i promised him Lebron Shoes when he graduate..So i think im buying one..And it is worth it coz i know my son will be happy as heaven for that. And no amount of money can match that..

MsHala / Brit :The really sad thing here is that these shoes are marketed at kids who can’t afford them. Not that anyone really can “afford” to pay this much for a pair of shoes, but still.

It's not even a nice looking sneaker and it is not only the children in the US that go crazy, u must go to some of the shops in the malls here and c ppl pay hundreds or even thousands for a purse or a handbag, so I guess it all has to do with status....and have u been in foot locker recently u get sneaker tht price already so i guess u can't stop it.

Take the LeBron out of the name and you are left with a 20$ pair of sneakers... (get my point?)

And i am sure that there will be some who will buy them for the name (yeah... some actually believe that these shoes were either LeBron's or he actually made them - stupid mentality)

surely there'll be ripoffs of this one and will feature, not only the jump meter, but also precipitation meter with online capabilities to compare who got the sweatiest freaking toes.

Nike knows what teenagers in America go stupid for and it's shoes by their favorite athelets and artists. They did it with Micheal Jordan, they recently did it with Kanye West and they're doing it again with Lebron James.

People are just gullible for this kind of thing despite the US' sad economy right now... which is the reason I moved to Qatar.

Absolutely not....But those who don't know what to do with their money and would like to show off would not mind paying even if it's more than USD1,000 for a pair of sneakers or even flip flops:)
