From the comments - It is disgusting that in this day and age human beings have to undergo such treatment. While it is understandable that poverty and desperation are the main drivers for these Kenyans going to these Arabian countries, there is also a hint of greed and fantasies about the so-called "greener pastures"...There are alot of things that are wrong with our government and how it runs Kenya but I think staying at home and trying one's best to make ends meet..is much better than this kind of suffering. Let's stop being greedy and work to develop ourselves enough..love ourselves enough to know that we deserve better!

If an Arab were to travel to Kenya these days as a recruiter; he's likely to get into a lot of trouble with the boys there. They hate this region.

I am surprised by those Muslims who themselves have never been good muslims, never followed any Islamic teaching and yet do cruelty to non Muslims under the name of Islam. Islam prohibits drinking yet they drink. Islam prohibits prostitution, yet they do it & then they cheattheir non muslim employees of money justifying it under the name of religion......and I have seen many such shameful examples in Qatar.

this article is a big lie because she said that she went to the kenyan embassy in ''Jeddah''

but kenyan embassy is in Riyadh and there are no kenyan domestic workers in Qatar

Saudi could be considered one of the most evil places on earth where the most terrible crimes take place. At the moment they have the money to prop up their abuses and hide their crimes.

.. well as expected coming from that place. First it was indonesians, Lankans, Indians and philippinas being abused, beaten and brutalized and now its the kenyans. I suppose it gets a lot worse then this. I suppose its starts from the top...

and wait till you read more where it all happens

This is interesting. Types of slavery exists everywhere. However, the difference in this instance is that the victim has the means to get help and hopefully prosecution of the guilty party ..

Surely, if their governments know that this is going on - then the government is complicit also.

I don't think you can say that, all societies indulged in slavery it was normally a spoil of war. However in the gulf it's economic slavery with abuse on top for people they do not consider on the same level as them

if you revisit history, the middle east is where slavery started, the only difference is the time.....this counties should practice what they preach.so inhuman indeed.

It's all about money is a funny answer. Do you think all countries should bring back slavery to help them out of recession?

It's good to highlight such cases and shame the countries involved. I do believe also that the countries allowing this to happen to their citizens also need to take action ..

brit, it would be nice if those countries have shame. We don't need to go far if you know what I mean.
