hi!

Is Villagio open yet, because i'm really confused. People constant say that the mall will open... but it's false information every time? Do some of you guys now the exact opening date? :)

I was there last night, actually passed by before going to Hyatt Mall... portion opened is Virgin store & carrefour.. the guard will ask you as to where you're going... it's been a long time since it closed,,, guess I have become used to coming in existing malls like CC or Landmark..

still want to go to Villaggio,, just to feel the creep... I usually go to the areas near GoSport or nike (& always pass by Gympanzee)...i wonder if it still feels the same... of course still feel sorry for the lost lives... hope the mall & the people will recover soon...

I don't like this attitutde from some of the commentators who are clearly trying to sweep this under the carpet by saying lets us all move on.

there will never be any moving on for the relatives of all who died and it is right that we should continue to discuss and air our concerns. As it stands no one has been convicted and punished (as they should be).

If those who are guilty are not punished and be SEEN to be punished how will people learn for the future. This all came about because people were lazy and greedy, not just the mall manager but the owner who could not be bothered to licence the premises for its true purpose and therefore bi-passed any kind of formal inspections which would have picked up on the potential risks of having such a facility in that location.

We need to talk about it and keep on talking about it until such time as we have robust fire safety measures across the whole of the country.

We are all aware it will be open.. so lets just wait and see... and lets not forget to pray for all those persons who died in Villagio mall...as what other people are saying.. lets just be patient guys... it will open soon..its just that we really dont know when exactly.. but it will be.. so lets just wait & see... :-)

Hatred and anger wouldn't bring the lives of those who died. Everybody feels sad about what happened but its time to move on. We can't grieve everyday on the lives that were lost but the prayers will surely heal those who are hurt. Lessons are learned.

Good Observation Galloper, Yes who are you really, Your posts are confusing, sometimes you are asking about how to have fun in Qatar, next your a flying crew wanting to travel to Paris and now you seem to be a F&B supplier.

Are you just a troll?

i did heard about some sections of villagio will be closed for repairs and from carrefour to the cinema will be opened. but still rumors and no confirmation. i feel sad about the tragedy that happened there and it must be difficult for those that have lost their loved ones to see it open again but also, a lot of people have put their jobs on hold and cant afford to remain jobless while villagio is closed because they cannot transfer jobs due to the NOC thing and their sponsors wont transfer them.

Not one of you have made any comment about when and if you return to Villagio to spare a thought for those who lost their lives in the tragic fire.

Having visited this week in relation to the reapirs, I can tell you it is really eerie in there and seeing the damage and smoke staining, I can only presume that some small part of the Mall will re open.

It is opening soon, but not this weekend. Businesses have been told it will most likely be in one month and a large section will remain closed, as they have not started to repair any of the fire damage yet.
