Why do people get tattoo?

azilana7037
By azilana7037

Before it was body piercing...face, ears, lips, tongue...sometimes in those body areas you won't imagine possible (the genitalia).

Nowadays...it's tattoos and the body skin is an open canvass of art.

Why do people get tattoo? Why a person would decide to get something permanently imprinted on their skin?

But why go under the pain of those inking needles? And the healing process is awfully itchy and discomforting.

Do you have a tattoo? what is it? what made you decide to get one?

Miss mimi is correct though, if you're having a tattoo and it on the part where it will have a contact with your bone, ull prolly feel uncomfortable. :/

I have a tattoo as well and planning to get more in the near future. Yes its very uncomfortable during the healing process but if you love what you're doing nothing is really big a deal. :)

The needle and the anesthesia is more painful than the procedure.

and I vowed not to do it again...promise :(

If you avoid bone, you're fine.

Although the tail of my dragon went over my hip and that wasn't bad.

This new one will be on my spine, so I'll let you know how that feels. ;)

I think it all depends on where you're getting it done. The first sitting of mine didn't hurt much, but the second did in some places :-(

Like I said earlier, I heard doing one around the elbow area hurts like a biyatch :-(

By Miss Mimi• 31 Jul 2012 12:12
Miss Mimi

It really doesn't hurt. I'm a total wuss with needles and I had no problems with either of my tattoos. The fear of the pain is far worse than the actual pain.

Hubby and I are going to go talk to an artist, but we want something that represents our son. He's a Capricorn, born in the year of the rabbit...so maybe something along those lines.

I found a nice one of the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, with a clock, and I was thinking we could put the time of his birth and the date on the clock, and then in the rabbits ear put his name in Arabic (since he was born in Dubai).

We could keep the theme for the next babies too.

it's not painful! i got one and it i did feel anything honestly. i guess it has to do with how much you can endure :) and oh for me tattoos (the ones i like) are usually words or sentences that are of meaning to me.

I've got two and I'm getting #3 in a couple of weeks when I go to the States. 1 and 2 are just things that I found pretty and appealed to my personality. #3 will commemorate the birth of my son.

I didn't find it overly painful.

I have 4 Tattoos

Each represent phases in my life that I would never wanna go through ever again ... Got a huge dragon on my back to remind me of the time when i got so mad i almost killed someone/ he has been handicaped for life . I take care of him now .. so when i look in the mirror i see these things that would never happen in my life again.

I have 2 tribals on my arms .. one symbolizes my folks and the other symbolizes my past relationship.

I have one on my leg which represents me ... PUNK :D

I have tattoos.5 of them are meaningful to me.I had them at the age when I didn't have to ask mom if it's ok so it's a sign of freedom for me & gave me the feeling of satisfaction by doing what I love to do regardless of what people might think. No regrets.

It's a need to be individual. Some buy Pink Kias , others get tattoos. I know someone who has an Anchor with a "W" tattooed on his forearm :O)
