Residence visa dilemma

Hi there
We return to Doha at the beginning of September. I then intend to apply to sponsor my husband, we have all the necessary documents ready. However he only has two weeks remaining on his visit visa on return.
How long does it take to get a reply? And what happens if the reply is after the expiry date?
I would be very grateful for any advise.

Thank you for your reply. He was in Qatar on an extended visit visa. We applied and gt an exit and re entry visa.
It looks to me that you are mentioning the date of validity as mentioned on the visa. Actually this date is for him to travel to Qatar. On arrival at the airport, he will be given a visa for one month, which can further be extended while he is here.You only need to get his medical done within a week of his arrival at Qatar.
