Hi,
We are moving to Doha with three children and are concerned about
the lack of school places. Is it easy enough to get a home tutor over
there?
How long are school waiting lists on average?
Thanks in advance
You can also try newton british school. I was told that they have spaces available. I have just arrived in Doha and am trying to confirm places for my two sons. Compass is really expensive, i am just hoping that i wont have to resort to using them. So right now i am open to any suggesstions that anyone can give. I feel like a fish without water here. Goodluck Lou-seven, hope you have success in your searches.
We moved over here in early March 2012 and tried to get our son (4 yrs) into a school for September, when he should start reception year. All schools we tried were over subscribed for that year. The only ones that had spaces were the expensive ones such as Compass International (£10,000/yr for a 4yr old, although the facilities are very good). If your children are older you might have more success but certainly early years education in the british curriculum schools are very over subscribed. My son is at CESK, this is a very good kindergarten which teaches Reception year for 4/5yr olds. I will then be applying to all my preferred schools in the January 2013 application period, for Yr 1 entry in Sept. 2013.
Depends on your school budget. The expensive schools still have availability (Shelborn, Compass, American Community, London Int. Schools). It's tough to have three children into the same school. What year are they in?

I mentioned them in a different forum. Really helpful staff, small class sizes, Brit teachers. My kids loved it there. Best of luck!

Thank you, my sons are year two and four from September and I have a two year old, do you suggest I put his name on a waiting list now as well?
Also, we are looking at living on Al Fardan five, which schools are most convenient, assuming we were to get spaces?
Thank you

I would like to teach ESL to adults. I have a couple of university degrees in education and working overseas has been a long held dream.
I can recommend one school..
