how do i strengthen my Wi-fi signal?

i live in ground floor...the Qtel router is in first floor. my net is decent if i use ethernet cable from a Dlink switch. but wireless is very weak (only single bar signal status POOR!!) any video or movie through net is just crawling.!!!the net guidelines show variety of products...Range extenders, wireless boosters..access points, switches...and so on...Which one is the best ??....need advise..i am sure many of you had enough experience in this...pls guide..

best way wifi extender Linksys coz may b u dont like the wires in Ur home so just plug the the linksys wifi extender near to ur modem or a little far anywer wer u want it will cover complete ur home 100% sure ok coz the range of wifi extender is 60meter so no need wireless access point than

dear nels...my landlord in first floor has Mosaic package...are you sure i cannot go for and extender/access point?? if so what is the alternative ..pls elaborate..

You have alot of options.

1) Move your router to ground floor.

2) Change your router from G to N+ speed.

3) Buy a wireless (WiFi) extender. (not possible if in mosaic)

4) Buy an access point router.
