An other Accident on Warkah Road by Teenager!
A 17-year-old teenager was killed and another teen severely injured when their vehicle flipped over near Barwa Village late last week, Gulf Times reports. A third teen escaped with minor injuries.
While driving his father’s Toyota Prado late Thursday night, Mohammed Muzzammil, 17, reportedly tried to overtake another vehicle at 150-160km on Wakra Highway, sources told Doha News.
The car lost control, skidding off the road and flipping over.
Passenger Jasil Fiyaz, an Indian expat, was reportedly killed on the spot, while Muzzammil remains in intensive care.
"Friends of the teens say they hope the tragedy will serve as a cautionary tale for young drivers in Qatar to slow down while on the road." I don't believe on this statement, Young drivers never understand, We have Zillion of examples, But how Muhammad got the keys of car? He is 17 years old mean No licence, driving car with or without father permission is Punishable offense!
Via DohaNews
stealth, No Cuz there was no female in the car,
well are you the third person who was in that car?
Doesn't surprise me one bit.
Drivers over here are absolute tards and should not be on the roads!!!
i know who hit the car because i am her friend that child is so innocient but her mother is very lazy she cant stop her children where they go so many time i saw her children sitting with his friends at late nigth and also smokinng so many times i think i tell her but she is always teeling i am liyer her children is not done like this but now whole country is seen what they do her son become well but what about that lady who lost her young son
again, blank stare.............
flor, don't be a faggot and answer the question: who did you call a retard?
they are still in the daydreaming stage, so would not listen.
You can only teach if people are prepared to listen
I dont think its necessarily age as the sole reason. I think it is lack of training, responsibility, and immaturity. All bred from within the family and society as a whole.
I do not mean this to offend, honestly. I am from the US where you can get a learner's permit at age 15 and a full licence at the age of 16. Sure we have our share of young drivers in accidents like any other country, but NOWHERE near the scale of what is seen in this region.
Parents and schools need to educate, but the bad examples are constantly being shown by their elders. In my 6+ years in Doha I have seen everything from the toddlers on the driver's lap, 5-6 year olds hanging out the sunroof while daddy gets the Land Cruiser up on 3 wheels around the roundabout, and much much more.
Educate the masses. This is the only solution!
ajit79, you know what's funny? The speed limit on that particular road is 80KPH, so if that Land Cruiser's driver wasn't speeding this accident might have not happened. Not to blame him, but that's another major concern which people ignore while driving.
People need to understand that they're responsible for their actions, whether they're adults or not, there should be more responsibility on the road. Qatar has a crazy rate of accidents with a relatively low amount of vehicles.. it's just crazy.
I agree to all post has "17 or young aggressive driver"
It's really true!!! they are just playing around, specially in a road where passing cars are minimal.
They will enter in RAbout with higher speed and turn their vehicle so fast, so the other side of their LC will go up. damn so dangerous!!!
In 2010, when i was in Dubai and was working at a hospital, at 3 am, one indian national driving with his wife broke the red light near the hospital and a land cruiser with 100 km/hour speed banged his small sunny car which threw the car in the air with huge sound. Wife who was an OT nurse & was called by the hospital on duty for an emergency case died at the spot however husband survived with severe injury. She left behind 4 months old baby and husband was arrested from the hospital and sentenced. What I know he is still in jail for being responsible for killing her wife.
I dont want to comment in Wakrah case but in Dubai Case, the men got enough punishment already with the death of her wife leaving behind a small baby to care....thats my opinion
flor: awaiting for a response - who did you call a retard?
You're not "your".
hope your sober when you type that! Lol! Sincerely, thank you for the greeting!
Happy birthday weird Flor, I Hope this year will bring you more sense and credibility.
Flor, sorry --- what did I do to you in order to earn such a beautiful distinction?
FJD ,, May be I am a little extra sensitive, Thanks for your observation.
Deep inside my mind , I get hurt when someone tries to make a death of others as a piece of day's entertainment.
Since when 17 years old Boy become a Toddler?
MM.You have the eye of a detective .
"It's nice to know that no innocent people were hurt"
Did you even read the whole story? The innocent passenger died and his life is in the drivers hand. REMEMBER PEOPLE, speeding is almost equivalent to suicide if you die!
can you tell me what bad comment I made here? You two sucks! Just to stir something? Not today retards, I am happy today!
I know some kids who are good drivers with sound judgement with less than 16 years of age.
On the other hand, you can see some old farts acting up like a bunch of teenagers.
They believe it will never happen to them. They are indestructible until they have had an accident and they realise they are not. Cars give a false impression of safety to young drivers.

Molten, First of all, Why would I sensationalize? Any benefit? No!!!
Want more comments on my post? Hell no!!
Want to bash Arabs? No again, since the one died wasn't Arab/Local!
I didn't mix up the news, i CP it from Doha News not from GT, and in the end gave my opinion, why wanted to share with you guys? To aware many of you to take care of your toddlers, don't let them drive the car if they don't have licence.
and then specially the statement by their friends that "They hope the tragedy will serve as a cautionary tale for young drivers in Qatar to slow down while on the road." this statement is like normal statement! that they say every day after every accident! But never learn!!
I have no interest in sensationalizing of any story! Cuz in the end either they will be removed of locked due to some nice guys like you!
I knew from the beginning that 'Ingen' OP has free time to discuss death.
So, folks , what I thought about him became true now.
The title 'An Other' was used for stirring 'an other' sensation after those 19 deaths.
What a cruel attention seeking basis ?
Some feel clearly ashamed of him & just oppose me out of reasons known to them.
Peter, I am sorry if I stirred a jealousy in your heart about my being here . Any way you are alive & I only try to avoid discussing old cases of road deaths...
How can we get our youth to follow the road rules when the adults don't. I've seen countless grown people merging lanes without turn signals. Go well over the speed limit zooming in and out of lanes. People using the emergency lanes just so they can get ahead in traffic.
Then they have their infants in the front seat of the car on their laps. No sight of car seats. Allowing 3 and 4 year olds hanging out of sun roofs of cars.
Molten what did the driver of the other car do according to you? You seem to be more knowledgeable about it. The kids violating the traffic rules of Qatar seem so trivial to you.
MM this happened exactly 3 weeks back. It's not that old a news.
And what the kids did is criminal and nothing short of that.
Xenakis when I mentioned I didn't want to comment was because I didn't want to say anything bad about the dead boy or the injured friends.
Inge speed was more than 140 when the vehicle flipped.
Molten Metal,
If it was not to imbeciles like you and Flor in this great website, everyone would be definitely having a better time. I am sorry to say this but if you truly believe what you type then you are either too naive or extremely retarded.
No hard feelings, I am just sick and tired of idiots who unfortunately tend to cause a threat of existence to others. Go out do something fun man.
Moral - Prado's are dangerous !
Sick Teen...lol
MM, don't know as if Ingen sensationalize the death, but HE has certainly sensationalize the thread...
I request you to please give the date of accident ?
Why you mixed up one news from two different sources cleverly ?
Was it not a try to sensationalise a death which was successfully neutralised by me even though I had to face a huge resistance ?
After this I will ask you about the title, that is later.
Parents really need to take responsibility for their offspring. I recall a case in Saudi where a local asked a friend of mine advice on buying a car for his son. My friend suggested something like a Toyota Camry. The Saudi said that his son wanted something fast and bought him a Corvette instead.
Three days later, the kid died in an accident.. :O(
Mandi, You want to endanger the life of other innocents also?
Molten, Am i supposed to answer you?
The sight of it was unbelievably dreadful and sent chills up my spine. A very crushing incident indeed. Breaking laws is never ok, and IMO teenagers, be they male or female, should never be allowed to drive, no matter how grown up and responsible they may seem.
How many of us made blunders in our teen years simply because we assumed we were smart enough to handle a situation as any grown up would. Thankfully we lived through them all marred only perhaps by the memories.
In the case of these three boys, sadly whilst one of them had to pay the highest wage, ie life, for his mistake, the other two will now live for the rest of their lives with this terrible incident to haunt them.
Flor1212, Yup Driver is alive and is in ICU, Passenger died!
Xena, 100% agree with you, they should investigate, and must arrest one of them Father/Son.. Who ever is responsible! This should be a lesson to all others no to give keys to toddlers - Well he was a toddler!
I would suggest jailing the parent who owned the car and allowed the child to take the keys. That just might serve as a deterrent.
Mandi
What actually was your target to post this old news other than a pure sensation which was already taken over on QL.
You need to improve on posting which should not hurt fellow members & relatives of the victims's feelings with your own judgments.
Do something creative.
It has never been a fashion to debate gleefully a mistake 'if ever' leading to death.
I would say, IF even that 17 year old boy got the Keys of the LC be it with or without permission of His Father, the rest of the 2 Kids should have been Responsible enough to Influence their Friend not to break the law....
Youngsters do want to have some thrill in their life, not knowing it can eventually take their Life...
May this incident be an eye opener for the Parents!
sad.. :(
I am sick to the back teeth of being told what I can say and what I cannot.
If family and friends of this child are on QL then they are going to understand my feelings, and the feelings of most people on QL and in Qatar, very well after I am done.
Irresponsible actions kill people - The driver of this car killed another person - The driver was 17. How did he get the keys? Steal them? If he survives intensive care, I say arrest him, he took the life of someone else. If his father gave him the keys, I say arrest the father - that way, it will be a lessonn to other families that giving the keys of a piece of heavy machinery that they are NOT licensed or responsible enough to drive deserves a punishment.
People need to realise that for every action there is a reaction and for every reaction a consequense.
People need to start paying for their actions!!!!
I think it's the passenger that is dead. Not sure though!
Molten, Oh that's why all the World Car Race Champions are from this region, Since they are familiar and are born to drive!
If he had capability, this would have never happen! He was not capable of driving a 4x4 at speed of 140, May his soul rest in peace, and hope the responsible get the punishment!
Molten, He was driving at speed of 130/140 Km/h, So don't complain about other driver, and why he wanted to overtake,
There is a rule, if you can't control a car at 80 km/h speed, better stay at 60 km/h to be safe!
Xena, Thumbs up to you!
TCOM, Yup, a bit old!
If one over speeds to 100 on a 60 road , vehicle won't flip over.
A 17 years old born or brought up in this region is
fully capable to drive a Prado. I am not discussing minimum driving age or local traffic rules.
Investigated into then prevailing circumstances too needs to be considered .
My condolences to the family who lost their son, May his soul rest in peace.
And wish early recovery to the injured.
this happened 3 weeks back. There was a minor report about it in the Gulf Times.
2 Indians and 1 Pakistani were the passengers. Their friends or relatives may be on QL.
The less said the much better.
Thanks Xena
You are right had read it before... Thought another similar type accident.
This accident happened a couple of days ago...
This intersection is becoming notorious though.... In the last month, I have seen about 3 accidents, myself.... serious ones.
The Traffic department is going to have to do something about it.
I believe this is old news correct me.
The road from Wakra----->Barwa willage-----> Air force roundabout is totally lack of plan without limited cameras (There is camera but its 120 Km). It shud be 100 km.
Its good no other motorist was harmed..
just consider all big cars are ambulances, that you have to give way to prevent accidents..
Do you just comment on these threads to add points? Or just to be difficult?
Where is the sensationalism?
The CHILD was 17 and driving a vehicle he DIDN'T HAVE A LICENSE FOR. He killed someone!!!! Over taking or not he was speeding too....
You need to really stop looking a everything in Qatar through rose tinted glasses and realise that even you are vulnerable to being deported.... just like the rest of us.... your totally un-biased view of Qatar, won't save you!!!
This is one of the problems here, well in fact the teenagers are the most vigilant drivers around aside from driving without licence they are really aggressive and most careless drivers on roads. they just simply playing on the road using their father LC.
The good thing is no innocent people were hurt.
It's nice to know that no innocent people were hurt.
A clear case of parents fault where the teen has access to his father's prado.
Unbelieveable ! So, Don't sensationalise.
What that driver of another vehicle did 'is the main reason' of this accident when this teenager tried to overtake !
RIP...let all father around qatar will take lesson to NOT give car to his child (he thought ready for driving, even without Driving license)
The fauklt lies with the parents...
Obviously! Why allowing Kids to drive?
Police can't check every car, whether the drive got the licence or not!!!
I saw a father let his son sit on his lap while driving and it's the kid who is holding the steering wheel at West Bay last March. I was horrified!
This should be a lesson to all concerns.
WTHER IT IS NATIONAL OR EXPATRIATE ...
THE LAW SHOULD TAKE ON THE CULPRITS
