Hi,

Well if you want to learn Hindi, you got two choices.. Either you can learn Hindi or Urdu.., Both are very similar languages.

Linguists think of Hindi and Urdu as the same language, the difference being that Hindi is written in Devanagari and draws vocabulary from Sanskrit, while Urdu is written in Persian script and draws on Persian and Arabic.

Hindi is closely related to Urdu, the main language of Pakistan, which is written with the Arabic script.

As you are an Arab, learning Urdu will be easy for you as you already know some of the writing script and vocabulary. If you learn Urdu, you will learn Hindi automatically.

Some learning resources:

Rather than reading hindi books, it is worth listening the Hindi speaker or watching Hindi picture and you should note and find out the words used by the speaker then only you can speak gradually.

Go to www.learning-hindi.com It's a good website. The language is quite easy and flexible. Once you learn your first 50 words then you can start spaeking by using English / Arabic words wherever you don't know the Hindi words. Many Arabic words are common with Hindi and Hindi speaking people don't mind people mixing languages while trying to communicate with them. Good Luck and Welcome!
